Inspiring encounter with German students visiting Learning Robots
On September 9 and 10, we welcomed a group of teachers and students from the University of Ostfalia in Lower Saxony, Germany.
Initiated by Professor Reinhard Gerndt, whom we met at the Robotics in Education 2023 conference, this visit marks a new stage in the budding collaboration between Learning Robots and this German university, renowned for its computer science program.
This was a great opportunity to share our common passion for educational robotics and artificial intelligence, and to showcase our AlphAI solution, which continues to attract interest well beyond France's borders.

A visit rich in meaning and perspectives
This visit was made possible thanks to a strong human link: Boby Immata, our current intern at Learning Robots, is himself a student at the University of Ostfalia.
Thanks to him, the exchanges between our two organizations have taken a concrete turn, culminating in the organization of this visit, which is in fact... the second in just two weeks! A sign of strong, and above all lasting, interest.
For two days, two teachers - Professors Reinhard Gerndt and Véronique Bizien - accompanied nine Computer Science students, who were keen to get a behind-the-scenes look at our company and talk to our teams.
AlphAI: a solution that's winning over Europe
At the heart of this visit: our AlphAI solution, designed to make artificial intelligence accessible to all.
Already in use in numerous schools, universities, IUTs and training centers, AlphAI enables the concrete manipulation of neural networks, via an intelligent robot capable of learning by itself.
At the Robotics in Education 2023 conference, we presented AlphAI to an international audience of researchers and teachers. It was there that Professor Reinhard Gerndt first fell in love with our approach.
A great encouragement for the whole team, and a strong signal of recognition for our pedagogical vision, which we have pursued with conviction since the creation of Learning Robots.
A tailor-made program for our visitors
Day 1: immersion at Learning Robots
On Tuesday September 9, the delegation was welcomed to our premises by our Managing Director Thomas Deneux, accompanied by Boby.
It's an opportunity to show them our working environment, our current projects and, of course, to invite them to get their hands dirty!
On the program:
- Presentation of the company and its history,
- Artificial intelligence workshop with AlphAI,
- Test our brand new "2 pixels" activity, designed to experiment with the limits of visual learning,
- Robot race, where everyone got to put their neural network training skills to the test,
- Presentation of Boby's internship work, focusing on the integration of Arduino into our solution. An appreciated and applauded demonstration!
As the day progressed, the exchanges intensified: between AI and education enthusiasts, the current passes quickly.
And for our German visitors, it was a great opportunity to get an insider's view of an innovative French start-up rooted in the values of sharing, simplicity and technical rigor.
Day 2: Discover the Paris-Saclay campus
The next day, we head for one of Europe's most dynamic university centers: the Paris-Saclay campus.
The morning's program included a visit to the LUMEN library, a jewel of modern architecture, before a bucolic stroll around the historic campus, in glorious sunshine.
This breathing moment was followed by a meeting with the IUT de Cachan, another of our visitors' academic partners.
It's an opportunity for them to pursue their exchanges, imagine future synergies and, who knows, prepare for future student mobility.
And of course, as good Paris tourists, our visitors also took the time to enjoy the capital... 🗼
A dynamic international collaboration
This visit is more than just a one-off meeting: it's part of a long-term cooperation between Learning Robots and the University of Ostfalia.
Links have already been forged:
- by welcoming our trainee Boby,
- through this dual-purpose educational visit (company + IUT),
- and soon... with our participation in the Robotics in Education 2026 conference, organized by Reinhard Gerndt in his home town of Wolfenbüttel!
We're looking forward to this event, which will provide us with an opportunity to present new pedagogical and technological advances, while strengthening our international presence.
Learning Robots: a French start-up with its sights set on Europe
This visit perfectly illustrates our mission at Learning Robots: to make artificial intelligence accessible to everyone, everywhere.
Whether at a secondary school in Toulouse, an engineering school in Lyon, or a German university, our AlphAI solution arouses curiosity and enthusiasm.
Since our inception, we have believed that AI should not remain a subject reserved for experts.
We're passionate about building teaching tools that are easy to use, yet powerful in their content.
And behind this adventure is a committed team, led by Thomas Deneux, our director, who instills a clear vision:
learning by doing, rooted in reality, but always looking to the future.
Thank you and see you soon, Ostfalia!
To all the teachers and students at the University of Ostfalia: thank you for your visit, your curiosity, and your good humor!
This meeting was a real highlight for Learning Robots, and we look forward to continuing the discussions:
- via new internships,
- joint workshops,
- publications,
- and, of course, a reunion in Wolfenbüttel in 2026.
The Europe of pedagogy is also built on moments like these.
And we're proud to be part of it.
